After The Storm
January 4, 2005
............................
EPA now owns full rights to After the Storm - a 1/2 hour television special about watersheds co-produced by the Agency and The Weather Channel (TWC). EPA encourages watershed groups and others to work with their local cable and other TV stations to air the program, which can be shown in whole or in part. The program can be used by communities to educate citizens as part of their stormwater management program.
The special highlights three case studies--Santa Monica Bay, the Mississippi River Basin/Gulf of Mexico, and New York City--where polluted runoff threatens watersheds highly valued for recreation, commercial fisheries and navigation, and drinking water. Key scientists and water quality experts, and citizens involved in local and national watershed protection efforts provide insight into the problems as well as solutions to today's water quality challenges.
The program is intended for educational and communication purposes in classrooms, conferences, etc. VHS copies are available by contacting the National Service Center for Environmental Publications (NSCEP) at 513-489-8190 or 800-490-9198 or by sending an email to ncepimal@one.net. Please request After the Storm (VHS) and refer to document number, EPA 840-V-04-001. If you want to order the broadcast quality Beta SP version, please ask for EPA publication # 841-V-04-001.
After the Storm will air again on The Weather Channel on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, at 7:30 pm EST.
