Every year, hundreds of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans are victims of violence because of who they are.

This year, the Human Rights Campaign is working every day to change that.

With a new fair-minded leadership in Congress, our best opportunity in a generation to pass federal hate crimes legislation is now. We are urging lawmakers to co-sponsor the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act, which ensures that local law enforcement officers have the tools they need to investigate and prosecute hate violence.

TAKE ACTION:

1) CONTACT the Human Rights Campaign and ask for campaign postcards.

2) FILL OUT the postcards to alert your senators and representatives that you strongly support this much needed legislation.

3) CALL your representatives to voice your support at 202/224-3121.

4) ALERT your friends and family to this issue and ask them to take action at www.hrc.org.
