GUEST SPEAKER: Chuck Devleeschower was unable to attend due to a family emergency.

1. OPENING AND CALL TO ORDER - David opened the meeting at 7:10.

2. READING AND APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Minutes from the previous meeting are on our web page. Members are asked to review the minutes and submit any changes within the next two weeks.

3. TREASURER'S REPORT - Lance reported Special Savings $248.00, Political Fund $224.34 and General Fund (share draft) $323.26

4. REPORTS OF DELEGATES AND OFFICERS

IGP Delegate report - The Indiana Green Party Coordinating Committee videoconference at the end of the month (March 29) will address changes and conflicts within the Marion county Greens.

Tom has been going to LaPorte once every month since January to help organize a Green chapter in the northwest Indiana counties: LaPorte, Lake, Porter. Tom offered to publish the Northwest Indiana Greens' meeting minutes on the SJVG web site until they have their own web site.

Mayor's Commission on Sewer Rates - Tom has not heard from the Mayor's office. The consensus was to have the Secretary generate a letter (on our new stationery) to the Mayor to follow up his invitation to Tom to serve on the Commission.

5. NEW BUSINESS

Domain name renewed - Tom reported that he paid for the domain name renewal for the SJVG web site($24.00 for 2 years), and Lance reimbursed Tom this amount.

Update lists - Tom reported that our member list is not current and should be updated. Kathleen will generate a new member list and submit it for corrections. Tom will email a copy of our contact database to the coordinators so they can study it.

Public access cable show - David reported on information he received re the studio and equipment. Shows are taped and studio access is scheduled on a first come/first served basis during an open sign-up period. Shows are aired in 13 week cycles. David hopes to have one or two shows ready to run from July 1 through September 30 this year. David will email the show's format to members. Tom noted that two Greens in Fort Wayne have an extensive video library and may be willing to lend tapes for the show.

6. OLD BUSINESS

Labor Studies - Kathleen asked Lance for the address of the IUSB Labor Studies Alumni organization, which made the donation to SJVG for new stationery. Lance reported that he'd sent the information to Vicki W. and that she is going to write the letter of gratitude. Kathleen will contact Vicki to follow up.

Paddlefest, June 29 - Paddlefest Kathleen will contact St Patrick's Park to request a spot for a SJVG table.

A proposal was made to sell t-shirts at Paddlefest. The consensus was to have tees ready. Kathleen will follow-up with printing and embroidery cost. Lance noted that he may be able to secure donated T-shirts from a labor organization, possibly with the donating organization's logo on the back. Kathleen will bring swatches of fabric to the next meeting. She obtained the swatches several months ago from companies selling organic cotton and hemp fabric T-shirts.

A proposal was made to have a petition available requesting that the city announce CSO events in the local media. The City currently reports to IDEM in Indianapolis, but not directly to local citizens. With summer approaching and increased river recreation CSO reporting is important for public health. The coordinators will draft a petition.

Palestine Forum - Tom has not yet contacted his acquaintance, an American woman who lived in Jerusalem until recently, about participating in a forum on Palestine. A suggestion was made to ask a local journalist to serve as a moderator in order to generate public interest.

7. NEXT MEETING - Monday, April 14, 7:00 p.m. at the Central United Methodist Church, 1920 South Main Street, South Bend. Tom will contact Lula Malone, candidate for Common Council, to speak at the next meeting.
