Minutes of St. Joe Valley Greens

May 13, 2004, Tom Brown, recorder

Call to Order: Victoria Webb called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM in the Dickinson Room of the St. Jo. Co. Public Library.

Members Present: Lance Howard, Liz Martinez (new member), Tom Brown, Kathleen Kaiser, Vicki Webb, David Vollrath

Agenda: Victoria Webb, coordinator, solicited the agenda.

Reports

Treasurer: Lance will circulate an email report to members.

IGP Delegate: Dave has nothing to report except preparation for the national convention in June. The delegate selection is over. Dave doesn't know the results of the presidential poll as Steps has not announced the results. Delegate votes will be cast proportionally according to the poll results.

Kathleen wants to attend the convention as an IGP delegate, but she submitted her request too late. So she asked Steps to put her on the alternate list. Dave and Vicki encouraged Kathleen to contact Steps because several elected delegates cannot attend the convention. They think Kathleen is very likely to be accepted as a regular delegate.

Tom announced the IGP CC video conference this Saturday. His house is the northern site. The meeting starts at 1:00 PM. Call Tom at 288-0703 for driving directions or browse the SJVGreens web site. Dave V. will miss the meeting. He is traveling this weekend.

Old Business

Elect New Coordinators: Vicki has accepted a job near Philadelphia, PA, so she has resigned as coordinator. Vicki will close on a house in a few weeks, begin her new job and move her furniture to PA.

Kathleen and Lance volunteered to serve as coordinators until our winter Congress.

Members gave Vicki hugs goodbye.

New Business

GreenTV: Tom and Kathleen will coordinate GreenTV production. Liz volunteered to help -- she is a skilled writer and reporter. Kathleen will get a list of shows in the GreenTV queue from Gray Stevenson at Comcast so we can plan the broadcast schedule for the next few months. Tom has 2-3 shows in his editing queue and has reserved studio time next week to edit. Kathleen will coordinate scheduling studio time.

Vicki gave Kathleen blank tapes and content from outside producers. We will use the outside content as filler and to ease the pressure to produce all our content. Kathleen proposed we start to rotate old locally produced content, and everyone agreed.

Vicki will drop off a CD of graphic images for GreenTV, buttons, tees and stationery. She gave Kathleen a master videotape of GreenTV graphics and music. Tom will make a copy for Comcast to use in the studio, or we'll ask Comcast to make a copy.

Suggestions for production:

Web Site: Kathleen remarked she had not received any CSO warnings and asked if anyone had received warnings from the City of South Bend as required by law. Vicki said she has received warnings and suggested everyone go to the City's web site and sign up for the announcements. Dave said that March was the driest March on record and there probably weren't any warnings issued.

Tom suggested that we publish the CSO warnings on the web site. No one objected. Tom and Kathleen will follow up.

Next meeting: Our next meeting is Thursday, June 10, 7:00 PM, in the Molloy Room at the St. Joseph Co. Public Library downtown.

Closing: Kathleen Kaiser closed the meeting at 8:30 PM.
