Minutes of St. Joe Valley Greens

Call to Order: Kathleen Petitjean called the meeting to order at 7:15 PM, in the Molloy Room of the St. Jo. Co. Public Library downtown branch, South Bend, IN.
Members Present: Lance Howard, Kathleen Petitjean, Tom Brown
Guests: Adrienne Miscimarra, Ashley Cenicerso, Nisk Strom, Nicole Harrison, Matt Jenner, Ashley Braun, Tommy Hayes, Judith Rubleske and others who did not sign in.
Movie and Discussion: Kathleen introduced the movie "The End of Suburbia." The movie ended at 8:30 PM. Kathleen lead a discussion of the movie itself and the issues raised and facts presented.
The documentary started a little late because there was no VCR or TV. We had a digital projector which had been reserved for our regular meetings through the fall and winter. But, no one reserved a VCR. A guest said they had seen a VCR in the Colfax auditorium so Tom brought it to the Molloy Room and connected it to the digital projector. It worked well.
Kathleen and Tom invited our guests to submit ideas to GreenTV and to help produce the shows. Kathleen announced the Tondu informational meeting this coming Sunday and the bike committee awareness ride scheduled for October 2. She also passed around ballot access petitions, spoke on the importance of ballet access and invited guests to circulate petitions.
Closing: Kathleen adjourned the public meeting at 9:00 PM.
Our public education speakers and documentaries have been successful. The success has affected our ability to conduct business after the public meeting ends. Lance, Kathleen and Tom held a private meeting of a few minutes duration to discuss whether to hold a second, regular monthly meeting to conduct business or call an occasional special business meeting when we fall behind. Kathleen will decide whether to call the special meeting this month and let members know.
Next meeting: Our next regular meeting is Thursday, October 13, 7:00 PM, in the Molloy Room at the St. Joseph Co. Public Library downtown South Bend.
