Progressive Discussion Group

Karl reported that the Progressive Discussion Group met on Tuesday January 30 at Fiddler's Hearth where they happened upon another group with a similar mission called "Drinking Liberally." The two groups joined together for the evening and may possibly coordinate meetings in the future.

Web Portal Project

Tom and Karl circulated a draft project mission statement. They asked chapter members to criticize the statement. The next steps are to define "progressive" and to compile a list of groups and individuals to contact re participation in the project. Karl suggested that the definition of progressive actually be the 10 Key Values of the Greens.

Isabel Piedmont's Request

Isabel is running for Bloomington, In, city council as a Democrat. She requests removing her name from a page on the St. Joe Valley Greens Website. Tom worked out a compromise. He will add a note to the page which explains Isabel is no longer a Green and is running for office as a Democrat. He also offered to link to her campaign website. Neither Dave nor Karl objected to the compromise. Tom will email Jeff, Lance and Kathleen re their opinions.

IUSB Academic Year Theme

Dave announced that IUSB has chosen "Sustainable Communities" as their theme for the coming academic year. He proposed that the SJVGreens participate in the themed activities on campus. Dave listed the books which are being reviewed for use during the year. No vote was taken. We will revisit the proposal when we have more information.
