A16 Support Demonstration - On April 16th, thousands of demonstrators will be protesting against the IMF. This global body encourages the destruction of sustainable local economies in favor of global "free trade" capitalism. These demonstrators understand that the members of the IMF are not elected and are therefor not accountable to anyone. So in order to be heard they are nonviolently protesting in Washington.

In support of these courageous activists, a gathering will be held at the Michigan Street bridge near Leeper Park, South Bend at 1pm, Sunday, April 16th. People are welcome to come share their support for those who refuse to ignore the destruction of the environment, human rights protections, and local economies.

Bayer March to Save Jobs - Speedy is being evicted! March from the Bayer main plant to the Elco Theater downtown Elkhart at 9:30 AM, Saturday. Bayer has announced their plan to close the Elkhart, IN, plant which makes Alka-Seltzer, Flintstones, One-A-Day and Bugs Bunny vitamins. Bayer will move production to Lerma, Mexico, Bitterfield, Germany, and Myerstown, PA.
Pat Bannon and Rob Adams will be at the march representing the SJVGreens. Hook up with them.
